You Ruheng · Malaysia

Real problems, useful web tools.

I turn local problems into testable product prototypes, decision tools, and commercial validation pages — connecting user needs, business possibilities, technical trade-offs, and the next piece of evidence. Currently focused on Malaysian students, young workers, and local businesses.

01 / Product suite

KiraMY

A Malaysian financial decision toolkit, currently positioned as a privacy-first educational product rather than a substitute for official advice.

KiraMYLIVE
Seven decisions.
One transparent toolkit.

Malaysia-specific estimates for tax, housing, retirement, education debt, and transport — calculated locally, with assumptions and official sources made visible.

Next evidence: version the rule sets, add verified test fixtures, export results, and create a feedback loop for calculation mismatches.

02 / Web application

Shiye Notes

A local-first notes app that trades cloud sync for a faster, account-free writing experience — with the storage limits made explicit.

A quieter place
for passing thoughts.

No account makes writing private and quick, but LocalStorage is tied to this browser: clearing site data can remove every note.

Next evidence: JSON export and import, backup reminders, recovery tests, and optional client-side encryption.

03 / Financial planner

KiraStart MY

A first-year money-planning workflow for Malaysian students, interns, and fresh graduates — from offer salary to realistic monthly decisions.

KiraStart MYLIVE
Your first salary,
turned into a plan.

Estimate real take-home pay, pressure-test living costs and commitments, then see concrete milestones for the next 36 months.

Next evidence: version statutory assumptions, test negative-budget scenarios, and learn whether users act on the recommendations.

04 / Local business concept

Bukit Pala

A low-risk commercial validation concept for a Balik Pulau nutmeg gift set — not a launched business and not a claim of market traction.

BUKIT PALACONCEPT
Penang's nutmeg story,
packed to give.

The proposed pilot covers supplier checks, cost structure, buyer interviews, shelf life, fulfilment constraints, and a small-batch pre-order test before inventory.

Next evidence: interview likely buyers, validate makers and quotes, model unit economics, then set a clear go or stop threshold.

Product judgement

How I think
about products

A shipped interface is only one part of the work. I use five questions to decide whether an idea solves a real problem, deserves more engineering, and has a credible next experiment.

01

User problem

Who is making the decision, what job are they trying to finish, and where does the current experience break down?

02

Alternatives

What can people use today — a spreadsheet, official portal, notes app, manual service, or simply doing nothing?

03

Product trade-offs

Why is a lightweight, local-first, or account-free approach appropriate, and which limitations does that choice introduce?

04

Commercial path

How could the product earn attention, feedback, qualified enquiries, repeat use, or another meaningful conversion?

05

Validation

What evidence should exist next — rule fixtures, interviews, task completion, supplier quotes, or a small demand test?

Skills

A product-minded toolkit for taking a focused web idea from rough problem to tested, deployed experience.
